I operate a play-based learning environment. I don't force children to sit still and listen to me; rather, I get down on the floor and make things fun. :) We do circle time where we learn the days of the week, learn about the weather, sing songs, dance, etc. I am always incorporating colors, shapes, numbers, and letters into everyday play. We do crafts, puzzles, and have lots of outdoor playtime to learn about the beauty of nature. I use Creative Curriculum as my guide to plan activities based on the current interests of the children in my care. Because it's child-centered, there is more play-learning and the ease of adapting each lesson for each individual age and development level.
